I just wanted to say Im soo sorry to his family I talked to Ben for hrs. a night for the last few months before he deployed he was a great guy and was so proud of what he was doing and I will never forget him and very blessed to have met him

Ben was easilly one of the funniest people I knew! I only wish I could go back and know what I know now. I think everyone wishes that sometimes. It's hard to believe he's gone and never coming back. It feels like just yesterday me stacey adam and ben were all sitting at my apartment relaxing having fun. I keep thinking I'll wake up and it'll all be gone. Like it never happened. You neverthink something like this will happen to someone you know no matter how many people you have fighting overseas. I always thought it was just something that happened on t.v. I never imagined it would happen so close to me. It makes me pray harder for the other loved ones I have deployed and even the ones I don't know because they are someones family and friend too. Rest In Peace Ben, we'll see you on the other side!!!

My Name is Stacey! Im Ben's ex girlfriend! I was totally shocked when I heard the bad news! Stiggy was such a great guy, and funny! He made me laughed all the time! I remeber the first night we meet he wore some of my pink gloves and my girly girl beanie because it was so cold out. Then we went and seen " Mall Cop" together and he laughed threw the whole movie, and I told him I didnt think it was that funny, so he bought me Step Brothers and Forgetting Sarah Marshall because he knew I would think those were good movies! I remeber when he first said he loved me, I started crying and he thought I was crying because I was scared but I told him No Im soo happy with you! I truly Miss Ben sooo much!! You will Never Be Forgotten Ben!! I think of you every day and miss you terribley! Thanks for serving for the Country hunn! " I LOVE YOU BENNY-POO"!!!!

I still remember Ben coming into work, happy, excited, and eager to halp Marines and fellow sailors. Always happy, always ready to work, always ready to help somebody. He IS the epitomy of a Friend, Brother, confidant, and an extraordinary Corpsman. One memory i will share is... he would come to work, and joke around with HM3 Moore, and HN Knight, When he joked with Moore : he would go around the BAS and tell everyone.. "when you see Moore, tell him to SHUT up!" everyone he talked to, wouldn't wait to hear Moore say a word, but they would say "SHUT UP MOORE!"
Stiggy had a wonderful way of making Knight feel at home, he would speak in a Jamaican voice, and say that Knight had ARMS LIKE T-REX!!!! BOOOOY!!!! I Love you man. you will have my heart forever, and my family will honor you forever! Semper Fortis / Fidelis.

Carrie, Joel and the Petre and Castiglione families,

Finding the right words to share with your family at this time of incredible loss is a challenge.

Your family has been so warm, in years past, and I only hope that together you find the love and support needed to persist through this difficult time. I send my most heartfelt sympathy as you heal from this unimaginable hurt.

Thinking back to my fond memories of Ben….little Ben was a joy. He looked forward to weekend trips Up North when he would ever so energetically help his Uncle Joe do whatever mundane task he needed to accomplish that day at the lake home. All he needed in return was a trip out on the lake to go fishing. It has been years since I’ve been in touch so I was thrilled to hear of his accomplishments while in the Navy. It doesn’t surprise me to hear that he chose a path of such selflessness. It’s a great credit to his character and personality to have contributed to our nation’s military and made such a sacrifice. He will be missed.

My sincere respect for Ben and I send my strength to all his loved ones.

To Stiggys Family,
Stiggy and i went to corps school together. He was truely great guy. A group of us hung out a lot in corps school and there was never a dull moment! He was so funny and upbeat. Being in the military you meet a lot of people and make so many friends and you learn to say 'see you later'. Stiggy was one of the people who you hope meet back up with in your career. I found out today from one of my closest friends from corps school. I am deeply sorry to hear about your loss. So many of us have such great memories of him, He was such a great friend, and he will never be forgotten. RIP Benjamin Castiglione. See ya soon Stiggy! God Bless to his family and friends!

I will never understand your pain of losing a child in war, but know he was loved and cared about by everyone who knew him.
HM3 “Stiggy”..wow. My heart dropped when I heard he was KIA. I knew him in Corps school and we were stationed on Lejeune together.. He always knew how to make me laugh. He was such a great, genuine guy. I will surely miss him.

I just got the news today and it is so hard to believe. Stiggy was SUCH a great guy. He was always smiling. He was such a great friend...always there to talk to if you needed it. I went to corps school with him and I have never forgotten him. He was just such an amazing kind hearted person. I will miss you so much Stiggy and I will always have you in my heart. My condolences to his family. You are so lucky to have had such a wonderful person in your life. It is such a tremendous loss. Words can't describe how sorry I am for your loss.
