2000 KAWASAKI ZR-7 for 2K in almost perfect condition. Needs a new rear tire thats it. Who thinks this is a good deal?
Thanks!
How many miles on it? That new tire will run a little over a hundred bucks. Need to know if oil and service was done it according to schedule.
2000 KAWASAKI ZR-7, Blue color, good condition, Rear tire needs to be replaced. Well maintained. 12,140 miles
My motorcycle class will cost me 225 alone CRAZY! But I want to ride.
That's not too many miles. The bike sounds great. Yes, please do take the motorcycle class. It's well worth it. One reason, being your life.
I have to take the class to get my license right? How long have you been riding for? Im probably going to spend 250.00 on leather, boots, and a helmet alone so Im glad I have been working and saving.
I was thinking of the safety and riders course. I believe they are only for teaching people who are new riders about motorcycles and how to ride. Not to sure. Call em and ask em.
I've been riding for over ten years.
First bike = Yamaha 400
Second = Suzuki 450
Current bike = Harley Davidson Heritage Classic - picture in my profile here.
I spent $500.00 for my motorcycle leather jacket. My motorcycle boots were around $130.00 alone. Make sure your helmet is DOT approved, and buy it new not used. You don't know if it's been dropped or not. If a helmet is dropped, it is advised to replace it.
Stay off the freeway until you have at least six months to a year experience riding your bike. Don't go over 60 miles per hour. I live by these rules.
citrus;
Try leatherup.com for your leather needs. Pretty good deals. I did not buy from them in case you are wondering. My friend and his wife both did and got pretty nice thick leather riding jackets.
Thanks man I appreciate the info. I'm on leatherup.com right now! :confused:

I took the course from the Motorcycle Saftey Foundation. In Tennessee a rider doesn't need the course to obtain the MC license. Not sure of other states.
In many states, the certificate of succcessful completion (yes people fail despite paying the 200 dollars) may entitle you to not have to take any sort of written exam or rider operation test.
The basic rider course is for folks currently with out a license- people who gre up riding take the course all the time! If you used to ride and haven't in a while the basic course is for you. If you never rode, the basic course is for you.
There is also a one day DIRT BIKE SCHOOL for those who want to learn safety for those off road fun times!
There also is an experienced rider course that can be taken once you've had a few years in the saddle.
The MSF's website is
www.msf-usa.org
phone is 800 446-9227
Dirt Bike school is www.dirbikeschool.com

as for the bike itself-- make sure you buy it only if the owner's manual comes with it. Also, you want all service records. There is a motorcycle check list for purchasing a bike, what to look for, how to tell if it ever got layed down etc. Type in Motorcylce Purchasing check list or similar phrases.
Kelly Blue book (www.kba.com I think??) has a section for motorcycles, to see if on the surface (pending out come of your check list) is worth what the seller wants.
Buy Auto Cycle Trader. It's a weekly publication, it'll show only bikes in your area. As for boots and such, check with other riders in your area, they will have hidden gems as far as flea markets etc.
Last word on this NEVER BUY A HELMET THAT DOESN"T COME OUT OF A BOX. If its on the discount table it probably was used as a display. As a display, it probably got dropped. Your helmet is designed to absorb impact once! If some one dropped it (how can yoube sure it wasn't?) then it's no longer good!! Buy only a brand new one, even if it's x2 the asking price on the discount table.
I bought one like this (unaware of the above) and had a friend xray it after the course. It had three cracks in it!! That helmet is now a flower pot!

I LOVE HARLEY'S
I either wait for them all the time or circle back to see wht broke this time!!
Say what you will, HD has good products. So do the others. For me it was what I felt more comfortable on. And the price was solid at 4800 for an 06 with 215 miles on it plus nine months left on the original warranty.
Liked the Dyna but not the cost!
Liked the Honda Aero but no one was selling a used one for what I wanted to pay.
It matters not what you ride, just that you do!
