Hello, I just DEPed in on Thursday and got HM inmy contract. I really wanted to get FMSS in my contract but it did not happen. The classifier said that she could not gauarntee me FMSS unless I went in as NCS contract. She did say that while at A school I could ask for FMSS and that with the high demand to HMs with the Marines that I would most likey get orders to FMSS. I am going to be in DEP for roughly 10 months before I am to ship to boot camp. I was wondering if it would be possible to later get FMSS in my contract or if the classifier was correct and that it would have to be through A school. If it only is A school then do I tell my instructors right away or wait until the Dream Sheet?

Thank You

When are you hitting boot Camp? Did you ask for 10 months??

Bottom line, you get to me before I retire 13 April 2007, don't go NCS and I will make sure you get FMSS.

But you have to get into Boot Camp now, if your in High School, send me your name, I will keep in touch with the Career Counselor.. She is cool and really tries to get the "GOOD" students what they want, you tell her Marines, I canassure you you will get the Corps..

As of now I am suppose to go to boot camp 20070627 and i graduate high school June 2nd. I even had to make my ship date earlier to get HM. I even had to tell the classifier noto other jobs because I scored 87 on the ASVABand they were pushing nuke and a bunch of other rates with high bonuses at me, but I want HM. The date for A School was 20070903 if it is not changed. I will be missing you by serveral months, unless you want to stay in the Navy a little bit longer:). Thank you for your response

Just keep in touch on here let me know remind me I will make the call for you.

But I can honestly say, if you are a "Male" and you go in asking for FMF, you will get it at this point and time.

Here is what normally happens though and is quite comical..

The line forms outside of HMC Sieferts Office (Career Counselor) who then brings each sailor in 1 at a time to talk with the Detailer who issues orders.. When you listen to the Males out in the P-way (Passage way) you hear em all beating their chests uh-rahh want Marine Corps.. The hallways are dripping with Testosterone, then they enter her office and the door closes and they get on the phone with the detailer.. the conversation goes like this..

Hello Shipmate what you want? (Detailer)

Uhh.. What do you have close to home.. Any hospitals or clinics? (Sailor)

And they get billeted to that hospital or clinic close to home they asked for if a billet is availible.

They then go outside and tell all their shipmates that there were no billets for the corps and they have to go to a $)(%*$()%$ Clinic.. Damn the Navy.. No Marine Billets..

Yeah right.. Wuss'es..

I'll remember to remind you. Do you want me to post before A school or during? Plus thank you for doing this for me.
