To my knowledge, Jump School is basicallly limited to: SEAL, EOD, SAR, Recon, ANGLICO and Air Delivery but opportunities are there for both Active Duty & Reserve Corpsmen.

What goes on at Jump School? Below is a link to a Oct 2005 Fayetteville Online article about Fort Benning's Basic Airborne Course, complete with several video clip's of various aspects of training, including the 34 and 250-foot towers.

For everyone who is curious, here is a jumper's view (http://www.streamdump.com/videos/display.php?h=74fba8) of a mass tactical airborne operation from what appears to be a C-130 over Fryar DZ at Fort Benning.

If my intell is correct, the helmet camera was worn by a member of the 75th Ranger Regiment last month (Aug06) for their Ranger Rendezvous opening event and captures a "Hollywood" T-10 admin jump (port door) from "Stand-by" through PLF.

Anybody know the pipeline to get into the school especially if you're not SEALS, SWCC, Recon, etc?

As a reservist, I wanted to go that school badly, but now I'm going back active duty. I checked CANTRAC's and it looks like there's a class every two weeks or so, and the Navy is allotted 20 slots, or so it looks. I can't see them having that many people going on a regular basis.

Uhh your wrong there shipmate, this class is regularly filled to it's quota, you have to have a billet supporting the need for the school. It's all about the $$$$$ nowdays, they train for what you need, not what you want. If you want Airborne, then get into a FMF unit that supports it.

Chief out..

Sometimes I really like this job...

This is what's called "Hollywood slick", a rare treat indeed. (because the only place you don't jump a pack is in Hollywood movies and slick meaning no deuce gear, just you & the chute...)

to get in the SEALs what do i have to do to become a corpsman for them. Would it be smart to go into the FMF first and the try for the SEALs?

-You would need to go active duty before you could go to BUDS (SEAL training)
-Slow down when clicking the "Send" button. Itchy mouse finger...?
-Don't you think that tag is a bit of a oxymoron

Hey say that to the Master Chief that talked to us when I went through Corps School, years ago.He started like this, "How many of you came to corps schoolto Kill People?" No one raised thier hands. Thenhe said, "You are all killers. Why you ask? Because you fix the people who kill the bad people, therefore you are all killers!"

I waz like what the? Just flash backs I suppose.
