Hi Jeff, how do you like floating on the USS Comfort? I wish it was around when I was in back in79-83. I did get to live on board the USS E.S. Land for a year, I loved it. I hear that this hospital ship is amazing and fully loaded. I guess it has been about all over the world by now? Lynn

What exactly is a bluejacket...doing a google search brings up everything BUT what we are looking at

bluejackets are normally e1-e3 (bluejacket of the quarter/year) but can also describe e1-e6's due to the blue jackets that we used to wear with our dungaree's (we now wear the black one).

Acey Ducey on the other hand is e5/e6. Some bases have acey ducey clubs (like cuba..had a GREAT e5/e6 club).

What does it mean when my Corpsman says "I got put up for Bluejacket of the Quarter". He is currently in the sand box, is it like a commendation, recognition of appreciation, etc?

He was selected as the best Corpsman in his unit E-5 and below..

It also means he will be up for BlueJacket of the Year at the end of the year.
