ok, I am an 8483 and currently finishing up my clinical rotations for 8486. I originally took this to allow me more time for school and to prepare for IDC school, but here is the problem. I cannot see myself doing this for very long.

I will not be re-enlisting for the bonus as I want nothing that might hold me back from IDC school. I know the Navy is hurting for them, so here I am take me. I have asked about it, but since I am in a student status I am not allowed to "pipe line to that school".

SOMEONE HELP ME!!!

HM2 Young,

See your CCC, are you eligible for HM1? As long as your test scores are ok, and your command endorses this you should not have a problem, submit a 1306/7 and get some letters of recommendation from some IDC's in your command.

Command endorsement is the only way to go..

I will try as soon as I check into my next command I guess. I am eligible for HM1

correct, NSHS Portsmouth told me I could not pipeline to IDC school. Seems silly. The Navy is pretty much begging for IDC's and then they have one wanting to jump right into it and because people are not willing to do alittle work it is not allowed.

I guess it is for the best for right now though since I just partialy ruptured myAchilles Tendon.

Put a bit more effort into a few college classes and go PA, its something you can use outside the Navy when you're done and its a lot more rewarding then being an IDC.

I was have plenty of credits for the IPP program, that is not my problem. The amount of people selected per year is very limited and I honestly have no real desire to be an Officer. I am quite happy being a Corpsman, just would like to take it to the next level.

I can always persue PA after I finish my time in the Navy be it when I retire or just get tired of it.

Everyone wish me luck. I have an appt to talk with the detailer tomorrow. I know I will not get IDC school, but I am at least hoping for some co-location with my wife since we haven't lived together in over 1 and a half years.

Asking to go back to San Diego, fingers are crossed!!!!
