The preseason polls have been out for a couple of weeks now and I must say that USC was NOT the right team to be ranked number one, I mean who do they play UCLA and CAL come on those teams suck that whole conference is week. And no USC doesn't play any top teams out of conference either top two being Nebraska and Notre Dame, they don't have a number one schedule and don't deserve to hold the top spot going into the season. Oh and the Big Ten is over rated again this year, yes I said the BIG TEN OVER RATED, Ohio State lost too many players on Offense and Defense to be a top rated team and Michigan well lets face it they choke that’s what they do and I don’t see things changing this year, I like Wisconsin to take the Big Ten and they will be the only team to win a major bowl out of the top three in this conference. The Big XII looks like this Texas takes it but they drop at least one (to a team they should beat) on the way and that keeps them out of the National Championship game, and then they spend their time crying about being snubbed and loss their Bowl game to an SEC team in a sad display of Texas football. The SEC holds your National Champion once again and this year which will be decided on a few key games first I look at the LSU vs Virginia Tech game if LSU wins this one look for them to jump in the rankings, next is LSU vs Florida, which should be a preview of the SEC Championship game with the winner getting the upper hand on the National title race. Then I turn my attention to the Florida vs Florida State game which will play huge in the major bowl picture, but last the SEC title game (which I pick LSU to win) will produce your National Champion, so yes LSU will be the team to knock off the season long number one team in the nation USC, and they will do it in dominating fashion. The ACC will be on the rebound and I take Florida State to win it in a close race. As for the Big East, Louisville will be the champs. Last but not least Notre Dame they will loss at least 4 of their first 8 games and end up playing in a mid level bowl which they will loss. So that’s what I think so deal with it.

OH did lose too many, I will agree. But they are still my boys. Whatever will I do w/o Troy this season? And Michigan choke? You are a man after my own heart Doc Newt!

A few games last nite but nothing to get excited over, the 2 key games this weekend are Tenn at Cal which Tenn will prove once again that the Pac 10 is over rated and the SEC is again the best conferance in College Football. The other game that has me fired up is FSU at Clemson, FSU needs to be careful Clemson beat them last year and Death Valley is a hard place to win at look for this to be a close game with the Noles just hanging on to win.

Chief who is your team I'll start picking them each week. ;-)

Week two has a few big match ups but I'm not overly excited about any of them. Here are a few to keep an eye on, first I'll be checking the score when The U (Miami) go to Oklahoma to take on the Sooners, now I'm not thinking upset but this game should be closer than the 11 point line so look for this to be an exciting game with this one being decided in the fourth quarter, I have the Sooners winning. Next game to watch is Oregon @ Michigan what I am looking for, will Michigan bounce back after last weeks lose or will they prove even more that the Big 10 is over rated, if these kids don’t understand you can’t win just by showing up you have to play football, this one is a toss up, but I’ll take Oregon. The sleeper game this week is South Florida @ Auburn this should be a good close game but Auburn will squeak by with the win. Next I turn my attention to a game that will most likely be seen just on the west coast that is Boise State @ Washington, this one should only solidify that the Broncos are for real as they go on the road and beat a good Husky team at home. Lastly I can’t leave out the big game in Baton Rouge that has the best team in the ACC coming to visit the best team in the SEC the out come of this game should have a huge impact on the National title picture. If LSU wins then they prove that they should be the number one team in the land, if VT wins it shows that the ACC is closer in talent to the SEC than many have given them credit for, I expect this to be a good game but LSU is too much for the Hokie Nation I’ll take LSU by 10. Let's see how I do this week Chief.

LSU's season will be determined by the Florida game. Miles is gonna ride the team hard because, well, he wants the Michigan job. If we can get past Florida there should be nothing to stop us. As demonstrated by the VT game the untested LSU offense that everyone was worried about is capable of scoring a good bit of points.

Even though neither of these 2 teams are ranked or even have a win for that matter this game is getting too much hype as normal, and I personally could give 2 $h!ts as to who win, I just think it is funny that the loser will be 0-3 and only solidify it's spot in ESPN's Bottom 10 Poll. Let me look at this one Big Blue's "D" is trash but the Golden Domers "O" isn't that good either advantage ND, Big Blue's "O" is sputtering and if that ND Defense can knock Henie out of the game Bug Blue will do nothing with the football, advantage push, next is Special Teams which this year for Michigan has looked like Special ED, and as far as I know ND's Special Teams has been ok advantage ND, last we look at coaches, Charlie Wise he's too smart for his teams good, and Lloyd Carr has no clue about anything, advantage Wise he will simplify the playbook enough for his team to win, but even with the advantage I don't think Notre Dame has what it takes and they start the season 0-3 in what is sure to look like a High School preseason Game of over grown kids.

P.S. Chief Michigan still sucks!!!!!

Man what a weekend of College Football half of the top 10 went down a couple hard on their face and a hand full of 11-25 lost as well it just goes to show that any school no matter how big can lose any given week to any school no matter how small. Notre Dame is now 0-5 on the season and may not win a game until week 11 because we all know they will not beat Navy week 10 and UCLA, Boston College, and USC may stomp them so bad they won't have any players left, I knew that ND was bad but not this bad, they all out stink. Florida State had a big win against Bama over the weekend which should give them some momentum going into the rest of the season and every good FSU fan knows that they will need it with solid teams like Wake Forest, Miami, BC, VT, Maryland and Florida still to come on the schedule. Now the big question becomes when will LSU and USC drop a game and who will be unbeaten at the end of the season to pick up the pieces as the big schools fall one by one?, only time will tell.

LSU will not drop a game. Death Valley is a terrible place for the opposing team (as VT will be quick to state) and all of our tough games are at home. While Florida will be a challenge Auburn was nice enough to show the world the way to beat them... make Tebow throw. Have some faith, itll be a purple and gold new year for sure.:panda:

Not gonna happen Andi. We have already played tough games to legit teams. OSU is good this season, but they do not deserve such a high ranking. Just think what the SEC did to them last year!

This has been the year of the upset in college football and Ohio State is not immune to this one bit, the last 5 games on their schedule are brutal (if there is such a thing in the Big 10) and they will drop one of those five. I also feel that LSU still could loss a game and it could come sooner than later, they play 3 tuff games over the next 4 weeks and close the season against an up and down Arkansas team, so LSU is not out of the woods yet. And last but not least folks I am on the band wagon with the University of South Florida, now they have some big games coming up that could make or break their season, but if they pull those games out look for them to be in the National title game come early January. Oh and yes I love the fact that USC lost and I hope they loss the rest of their games this season I can’t stand them.

There are 2 major things that get me hot under the collar, Doc Newt. The first is people blatantly disrespecting our men and women in uniform, and the second is people ragging on, you guessed it....THE Ohio State University. LOL. Just wait is all I can say. They are still pissed with how they ended last year's season. It'll all work out in the end. LOL.

I see where you are coming from, but Ohio State doesn't have the speed to hang with the SEC which was proven last season, speed kills and the Big Ten has shown that the teams with good speed are giving the "good teams" in the Big Ten alot of problems. Ohio State is OVER RATED and like I said I'm riding the USF band-wagon all the way to the National Championship game and if Ohio State makes it that far USF will run circles around them.

All I have to say it you is that Florida won the title last year with a loss. Can't count out the bayou Bengals, after all, it was a ranked opponent we lost too with a terribly banged up team.

All I am gonna say is this: "who will be number one when the rankings come out tomorrow? Not Michigan. Not LSU. No. 1 and OSU are synonymous. Face it and stop the excuses.

Last year, I cried over that @#$% championship game. My boys played like Crap. (Capital C intended!).I didn't make excuses. When John rubbed it in my face, I told him that they deserved to lose because they played like crap. But regardless, I am still a Buckeye. Born and raised in OH. My entire family is from Columbus. Therefore, the smack-talking will never cease. Hahaa
