Where were you 9/11/2001?
I was serving with I&I 1/14. We went from TRAINING to fully operational in a matter of 30 mins. Our Threat Condition went straight to Delta. It was the first time the United States had been attacked on its own soil since Dec 7th 1941.
I went from PT gear to full Flak, Helmet and 9mm Locked and loaded & strapped.
Our life in the military had changed. The Cold war was gone. We were at WAR.
I just wanted to remind you recruits who are thinking about joining. We Enlisted Medical people get right in the thick of things. Not many billets on ships or on shore anymore.. But Plenty with the Marine Corps, Army, or Air Force, forward deployed. Don't join the military to go to college. You join to support your fellow brothers and sisters in arms. I can't put it any plainer..
If you want something else, please see the Peace Corps Office.
