Greetings,

Do you have a job to offer a fellow shipmate, or former Military Member? If so post it here with a contact number.

Military Members can be the pride of your workforce!

Thanks
Da-Chief!

found another web site. www.militarystars.com (http://www.militarystars.com) is a company that recruits military folks for clients.

There is also a company called Orion that does the same thing.

In my case- I found a job finally. Its with CCA and I will be training starting 18 Sep for a Correctional Officer position.

Now if something winds up in my lap paying more and with less risk of injury, I'm taking it. For now, I'm headed to prison.

I was told the lights could go out. I was also told there is a 30 second delay between that and the generators turning on. I was told to move if the lights go out. Less likely for the prisoners to throw things or get their hands on you.

Thge fire service and EMS community are good places for a Doc to go to... Look into that, use your bene's and go to school. Make sure to have a good resume, and certificates...

I did see a posting on the web by a company called Cubic Applications Group, looking for a "Combat Medic/EMT civilian" to teach CLS to the Marines out at the stumps

Google combat medic jobs and look for cubic corp.

Yeah - why would they contract that out rather than use Corpsman ( HELLO!!!!) to train them. That just seems like a waste :(

Sorry I haven't been following this very closely, its Contract time @ LM!!!
Anyway,
As with many things GOV contractors have done, (which I have had more and more contact with these last two years since retirement) is they have carved out a niche, in the IT, training, logistics, and operations areas of the Gov and Active duty mil arena. There are no less than 6 jobs including Cubic, CSC, SAIC, DYNCORP, PAE, LOCKHEED MARTIN, NORTHROP GRUMMAN to name a few that are using Vets and Retirees with OEF, OIF experience to train. when it all comes out in the wash, AD folks are too few, and are these days getting and it is cheaper/easier to just hire someone who can do the job. there are jobs out there for instructors that know the MC4 program, MPRI hires trainers and loggies for Afghan National Army, PAE hires Medic, Ronco hires medics as with many of these if they are a State Dept Job you are required to be a national or state licensed EMT, not for all but for many. MPRI cotacted me and asked me for a resume and the contract for a year for training ANA commandos in garrison and field medicine programs was $130k+.

who would have known a 9502 could even be considered with no degree or license! I didn't get it, probably got beat out by an IDC. good on them

so right now I am in EMT school (returning to my roots). Next fall I am headed for the Paramedic program. As a EMT-P what types of places are looking for experienced field medics, emergency response trainers?

I think I could beat out any one else applying and do the job a whole lot better than most.

A lot of hospitals now use Paramedics as Emergency Room Technicians for starters...
Try Rural / Metro or AMR if you want to use your on rig and field time...

I can get you contacts for either one anywhere in the country...

I worked RM in in VA and AL before the Navy and with AMR Southwest now....

Fire Departments take qualified Paramedics for academy...

Good afternoon -

New to the group, and am enjoying the forums. I just retired from the USAF (OK, cheap across the bow shots welcomed but only for a limited time:)) and am now the military veteran recruiter for Acadian Ambulance Service in Lafayette, LA. We are actively recruiting military medics, IDC, IDMT's for positions in TX, LA, and MS. We do require NREMT Basic or Paramedic. Additionally, we are working on a bridge course for you so that you can sit for the NREMT Paramedic exam. Please contact me if interested in the details at 800-259-3333 Ext 1571 or cell at 337-501-5181. Thanks, Terry
