Dental Technician

I am interested in becoming a Dental Technician but I am told that DT and HM have merged; I wanted to know how I would go about getting into the dental field. Would I have to become a corpsman and have DT as a "C" school or what?

I take it your aren't in yet.. If not here is what you ask for in your contract..

Corpsman with the dental strand option..

you go to Corps School first, then to Dental Strand school, I know they are hurting for them right now.. See a Recruiter..

i'm E-2 i will E-3 in March and i'm stationed in Norfolk VA. i want to get the A-school as soon as possible. i meet all the requirements. i'm very interested in Dental Technician and i could use as much help as you can give to point me into the right way. my NC is gone on emergency leave so the fill in is an FC2, shes really doing all she can to help too. i just want to see if i can do something to help to spend up the process. thanks Chief

You must fill out a 1306/7 asking to go to HM"A" School with Dental Strand Option.. Put all then in the form..

Hope this helps. Also you can call HMC Ziegler @ (847) 688-5328 Ext 2778, have your FC call her she is the LCPO in charge of the school. I know she is looking for people to fill seats now..

thanks for the info chief, i was wondering if you had an email for her because we are currently on cruise.

p.s.i know i will have to extend on to my current contract which is no problem, but i was wondering how long is the Dental Strand Option school?
