HM2 Charles L. Milam;
Thank you for your willingness to defend the United States of America and her freedoms and interests. Your untimely death brings much sorrow and sadness to the hearts and lives of your family, friends, military brothers and sisters, each and every member of corpsman.com and the Patriot Guard Riders, and all who truly appreciate their freedom. We are proud of your service and dedication in that which you believed in and fought for. Your mission is complete. You are truly an American hero and the world in which we live is a safer place because of your commitment to freedom. We will now proudly stand for you with honor, dignity, and respect. We pray that you will now rest peacefully in the arms of God. May He provide peace, comfort, and understanding to each life you touched.

As those of other generations, HM2 Milam has gone on ahead of us to guard our places in Heaven, where the United States Marine Corps guards the streets with their brothers, the USN Hospital Corpsmen, at their side. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your sacrifice that we shall remain free.
My condolences to those you have left behind, your family, friends, and fellow warriors.

What's YOUR definition of a veteran? How about honor?
A veteran - whether active duty, discharged, retired, National Guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America," for an amount of "up to and including his life."
That, my friend, is HONOR... and there are far too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

Nothing we can say or do will make this any less painful. But please take it to heart that I and my family, thank you and your family for the sacrifice you laid on the altar of freedom.
