Going To NHCS in December

I actually leave in December to NHCS (yesssssss:)) but I realize that NHCS was going to go into Holiday standdown. I was hoping to take christmas leave in NHCS but the rules states "Cannot take leave within 30-60 days of check-in". I was wondering if NHCS is going let me take leave due to holiday stand down or not? Thanks.

I think the holiday stand down doesn't fall within those rules - But I will refer PegasusHM to this post and see what he says :)

Well, the former CO granted students the ability to go 5 days "in the hole" during Christmas stand-down. With a new CO, he has not put out his policy yet. the "exodus" period should start on the 21st. of December during which time it is "highly encouraged" for students to take leave. If you don't, then your time here will be spent on duty. Lasy year, we shut down 3 of the 4 barracks and had about 40 students stay behind (of their own will) and they stood rotating watches. (yes, they got time off). Bottom line is that the CO has not put out his policy yet.

I don't see CAPT Parker being a "STICKLER" as much as the last CO.. Not to say she was bad, but he looks out for morale, unless the students are acting like animals. Trust me they want the students to go home for Leave as it gives us the instructors and staff a better chance for taking leave as well..

Oh Did I call my self a instructor?? (Not since April 2007!) ;-)

We always have been looking forward to Exodus. Are they planning a Port and Starboard rotation this year?

2 years ago..prior to CAPT Lemon, hell we came in CIV Clothes each day for work and only had to staff the offices with "1' person to answer the phone.

What got me are the knuckleheads who stay?? Why in the hell would you stay when all you do is stand watch? Go spend leave with a classmate or whatever.. Re-charge your batteries..


What Also got people spun up.. they buy their plane tickets way before the word is out and are stuck with a ticket they can't use as Exodus has not happend yet..

unfortunately, the only word out yet is the tentitive date is the 21st. other than that, nothing solid.
