Any suggestions for our shipmates is appreciated..

Chief,
I was wondering whatthe address to where we can send letters or care package to our shipmates to let them know we appreciate everything they are doing for our country? I thought that maybe it would helpto give them some support for those who have been away from there families for so long!

I just spent two weeks at the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center learning all about this, lol. Ummm I remembered hearing about Capelene, fleece's, etc....oh yeah, and"cotton kills"We were issued a lot of that stuff too.
If I can get my hands on what the cold weather gear issue was up there, that would help out a lot. Everything I was issued, was pretty good, and kept me pretty warm while I was up there.
I'm sure blackwater, or USCav has some pretty good stuff.
best cold weather gear for iraqwould have to be the old school field jacket liner.

randver.....I recognize the ink work you have going on. Ramadi?
Cold gear......fleece is a good start. Also, good gloves are a must.....nomex actually works well, and nowadays you can find variations of those that are made for the cold.
Alot of what type of gear to send depends on what kind of "things" our shipmates are doing. ie: foot patrols, stationary, etc... It really does get cold in Iraq, much more so than most people realize, so good base layers come in really handy. With how well our bases out there are built up now, most people have beds to sleep in, so a good, warm, pillow case and blanket would be a good comfort item.
