The Great Park Balloon is the largest tethered helium balloon in the country and is the first major attraction of the Orange County Great Park, a 1,347 acre public space on the site of the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station in Orange County, CA. Rides in the balloon are FREE for 2007.

Balloon riders will soar between 250-400 feet above the surrounding landscape, enjoying a bird's eye view of the transformation of the retired air station into the first great metropolitan park. The aerial viewing distance is up to 25 miles.

Up to 30 passengers may ride the balloon at once. There are NO age, height, or health restrictions. Children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult and babies must be held in a parent’s arms – strollers are not permitted on the gondola but may be left next to the balloon queue. The balloon is wheelchair accessible allowing guests with wheelchairs and Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECV) no larger than 25” wide by 48.5” long to remain in their wheelchair/EVC during their flight.

Line lengths and wait times may vary. This is a free attraction providing a rather unique view of Orange County and although wait times are typically 15 to 30 minutes, there have been days when it exceeding an hour.

Current Flight Schedule: Flights are subject to wind and weather restrictions.
