But when I was stationed down at Naval Hospital Beaufort SC ... I was driving this
http://www.cruisinclassics.ca/photogallery/members%20cars/quesnel%20to%20pg%20008.jpg
'66 Dodge Charger and it was this red. My ex, at the same time was driving a sky blue 318 with mag wheels. We had his and her '66 Chargers.

I miss that car. That son-of-a-gun would take off when you put your foot to the peddle. The blue one slung a rod and went out of commission that way. My red one I kept in storage for the 3 years I was stationed in Yokosuka Japan. Then she sat up in NJ with me until I had to sell her for $1,000.00 ... if I ever get the chance again I'll buy one. Theres very few of these left.

But it was a keeper that was co$tly and not running at the time. If only you knew how I was living in NJ ... you'd understand why I sold her.

When your daughter asks you, "are we were poor Mom?" while you're carrying the groceries home from the grocery store because you have no working car and that is the only way you get around ... by walking everywhere, it was no "keeper". Things got really hard in NJ for us. Selling a car that wasn't running for that amount of money at that time was a necessity and not a luxury I could afford. But now that I'm up and on my feet again I can look around and see if I can find another one.

I loved that movie "Big Fish" because they have a '66 red charger in PRIMO condidtion in it ... just like mine was. ~sigh~

Yeah I understand.. I used to have a 76 Firebird.. I got rid of it because it needed Tranny work on it..

Looking back now.. God I wish I had kept it..

But when you get older Hindsight is always better then foresight!

Knowing Andi.. there would be a "THUNDERCLAP" and a big bolt of Lightening would come down and torch her and her car as soon as she went over the great State of MI's border..

I will be in the market for a new vehicle again in a few years (after I teach my daughter to drive -- she can learn on the Sebring and beat it up).

When that time comes, I'm going back to a truck ... only this time a REAL truck like this Dodge (before I had a Toyota long bed pickup)
http://www.sd-concepts.com/cart/images/IMG_0794.JPG

I miss the versatility of throwing anything in the back no matter what the size. I'm so limited on what I can buy and haul with this Sebring ... AGHHHH! I hate adding a bike carrier to my car when I used to just toss my bike in the back and tie her down in there. I guess there are car people, hot rod car people, and then there's truck people. I'm a hot rod car person if I'm going to have a car ... or give me my damned truck! http://www.corpsman.com/forum/images/icons/icon10.gif

My baby was an 1985 CRX Si- I loved her so much, she was a rare one here due to her age...

http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e211/1whiteTeg/Rex07_07001.jpg

She had a face lift from a newer 1987 CRX
and a heart transplant which consisted of a larger engine-
B16a with Tranny. In order to help her breath easer she had a Turbo and to help expel any waste had 2.5" piping to a Magnaflow Muffler. For my seating comfort I was wrapped up in Recaro seats, Nardi Leather stearing wheel, DC Sports short shifter with Skunk2 Knob, and a Sony system. The wheels were totally rare here in the east coast (maybe the whole USA) and I had them shipped from New Zealand (they were rare out there too).

I flew out to Camp P for training with the 1st MedBn (MATEX) and upon arrival found the car stolen. It was taken from the "secure" indoor parking facility here in Orlando Airport. She was found about a week later totally stripped. I was heart broken, I lost a whole lot of money and recovered none :( ahhh well hopefully when I get back from deployment I can work on another car and go on the show circut... RIP baby :( :(

Crime has become so bad, it's nearly impossible to keep anything safe! What I have learned is don't call attention to yourself with tricked out rides, hi-end blaring stereos.

There are some who don't celebrate with you on your achievement. They just steal it for parts and see only money!

Sorry for your loss, I hope you had some kind of insurance.

Just my experience from the last 52 years on earth.

we used to go to it every year but for the last few years we haven't made it down there. The boys always loved going down and seeing all the new cars and gathering up all the freebies that were being given away.
