Has the thought of creating an off-topic section ever been considered? I know on the forum I moderate that is the most frequented section of the forum.

We also have what is called a Premier Members section, where people pay a set price and they have access to a section that is for the most part free from rules. People can post what ever they like. PM section also have a monthly drawing where people get odd prizes or cash.

Just a thought.

You call it "off topic" and other message boards I'm a member at we have called it "general discussion". It was the same there ... the most busy forum on the boards. Its the one that people can just BS in and vent about daily life, their drive into work, their pet peeves, their accomplishments in something not-related to the board, or their kid's.

I think if we had that here we'd have higher participation. There's a lot of great information to read here ... but to build friendships and camaraderie? You need a place for people to sit and BS as if they were in the chow hall, out for a smoke break, etc.

I know I'd be in there jacking my jaws. :D
