Hi there! Im HN Vavrina-Thibault, my husband is a corpsman currently stationed with 3-2 Wepons Co. in Al Qaim. We have a funny question for you guys. We've been noticing in our time away from Corps school that there has been less and less moto corpsman stuff. Unfortunately we are both stationed on a MCB and we aren't sure if maybe that's why but... we have been entertaining the idea of starting an online business that filters through Corpsman Moto gear. Sort of like a headquaters where we will be the middle man for anyone who wants Doc shirts, blankets, cups, corpsman mugs, anything like that. Right now we jsut want to put out feelers to see how much of a feedback we would get on it and if it would be worthwhile to go after. It would be a long process that probably wouldnt see results truly until the fall or even next winter, but I would like to know... how many are interested in it? I had votes of confidence from my family as well as my husbands, my brother, who is also a corpsman, and his whife who is active duty Navy as well. Please give me a note or something that jsut shows whether you would be interested or not in seing something like that come about. good or bad reviews, i would love either. Thanks!!!

I believe there is a market for it. In order to not have "inventory" you will need to find suppliers who can take an order and drop ship it directly to the customer. I have seen this done with car parts. The guy did make some money.
You should be asking yourself these questions. What's the competition like or who is your competition? How do they operate, how would your company be better than theirs? What would you be offering potential customers that is different from the competition?
It should be relatively inexpensive for start up costs. You should be incorporated for your financial safety. All I see that is required is a small web page, dedicated phone line with voice mail option and your articles of incorporation. Incorporating can be costly, you need to shop around.
PS: Da-Chief how do we order from this "spouse"? Or is it in developmental stages?
I tell ya the only place I have found "corpsman" stuff has been Sgt Grit but it is only geared toward Greenside Corpsman not Blueside. Which is kind of frustrating because I don't expect that Dan will always be a greenside corpsman so I will want goodies that are blueside too :D
Keep me posted on this as it develops along :)

Maybe not all the time. I started out green, then went blue. There were advantages to both.:bluv:

I should have stated in today's military environment it's virtually impossible to go back to blue. We are at war now. Although, I'm sure there are always rare occasions of this happening. It's not always the norm.

I'm green but was thinking of going to CBs (not the same green though huh?) I love the FMF but its not the best thing for my career, I need to move over to another unit even if for a couple of years...
Sorry to Hijack the thread, I wish you guys a prosperous New Years! Make sure that the Moto stuff can be purchased from those of us going to the sandbox, as well as those there now :panda:
