Apologies as I do not know my sister's exact rank in the Navy.

In 1991, Karen enlisted in the U.S. Navy. She completed boot camp in Orlando, Fla., and attended corpsman school at the Naval station Great Lakes. She served her tour of duty between the Oakland Naval Hospital and the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton as a medical corpsman. She split her time between the emergency room and obstetrics. Karen spent most of her naval career either saving lives or helping bring new lives into the world. Karen was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1995.

My sister Karen L. (Hall) Dion, who after the Navy went on to become a prominent Paramedic/EMS educator who worked for American Medical Response, and Cataldo Ambulance died in the prime of her life from two gunshot wounds outside her home on 76 Mountain Road on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007. She was killed by her husband Gary Dion.

If you knew my sister, or know anyone who might have known her please contact me: william@heavynova.com

Services will be held:
Karen's life will be celebrated Jan. 5 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 88 W. Main St. in Bradford, NH 03221 (603) 938-5313.

My most sincere condolances to you and your family.

I didn't know her, but she was family all the same being a Navy doc.

May our Lord hold you and your family in His embrace as you strain to deal with her loss. I'll keep you all in my prayers.
