Greetings Shipmates,

I am currently in school. If anyone out there is aspiring to become an IDC, please feel free to hit me up with questions. I also write a monthly blurb in the Newsletter about it, so please read, and as always feel free to shoot with questions, comments, sea stories, ect.
School is really tough right out the gates right now! but its a good challenge, my advice to anyone prepping.....brush up on your A&P as well as Med Term. Right now we are loaded up with plenty of homework.....15 chapters of advanced A&P with quizzes, with 114 pages of med term (400 words) that will be tested on next week.
One of our final exams will be a 45 minute complete head to toe physical exam......along with a pretty hefty written exam.
Now I know the CG developed our school off of the SIDC program so I know its similar in regards to medical sickcall, ect. but the admin part is different. But Safety Enviro is the exact same for Navy & Coast Guard.

Anyhow again, hope all is well.

I had always wanted to go to IDC school, but the reality is, there is no civilian equivelent :( Closest thing would be PA but why not just go to PA school instead? Even so IDC is gotta be awesome, and you pick up pretty fast...

I would also had like to get into a PMT school, it sucks in the reserves, reserves= no active duty schools :(

YEA its frustrating on some of the things you would like to accomplish but cannot by being a RC member....

Getting paid to go to school is hard to argue with.. even if you have no life outside of studying ;)
