Well this past Thursday I finally classed up for AVT school here in Pensacola. I've been here since November 24th for PSI duty waiting to class up. I will say in the two months of PSI work I learned alot about being a corpsman and an AVT, and it has definitely put me at an advantage going into this school.
I came into the classroom Thursday with no follow on orders, filled out a little sheet of paper that day with what I wanted, and Friday Senior Chief calls me and the 2 other guys into his office, and tells me I'm getting Hawaii with the 1st MAW (which is exactly what I wanted). So after here I'll be heading to FMTB and then off to Hawaii if my orders hold, he said its still wet concrete, not dry yet.
This is by far the best news I have gotten in my 9 months of being in the Navy, which has been alot of going for 2nd best because my 1st choice wasn't available or what not. So i'm pretty excited, and anybody that has been to Hawaii or Kaneohe MCB any info, sites, or advice is more than welcome. :)
