Well... I'm now staff at NHCP while i'm on limited duty status... anyone here ever work there? anyone know what i should expect? after over a year as a PSI on the green side, i'm a little nervous about these new orders, i've had greenside corpsmen tell me a million times all of their hospital horror stories... any advice?
thanks

The Marines love their Corpsman, (Doc's). You shouldn't worry about your orders. A military member/family member coming to see you as a patient at the hospital is because they need your medical assistance.
All new people are told 'horror' stories and they are usually just that, stories! Pay them no mind, maintain your professionalism and you will do well. Excel in your duties and try and squeeze in some exercise time, if you are allowed to medically.

Do not date anyone on staff. Stay out of love triangles and be conscious of the politics. Remember that patients are in need of assistance and it is your job to get them that assistance; they are not "work" to be avoided, handed off, or put off until later (no matter how stupid & annoying they may get). Proper documentation is a must.
These comments are not specific to NHCP. Lot's of things will depend on which Dept you work in and the Dept leadership. Make the most of your opportunities while on LIMDU. Complete training or college courses, gain some quals, study for advancement. The hosp provides a lot of classes & cert's that can further your Navy career or help you on the outside if your LIMDU goes to MED Board & sep.

PSI?
I am having difficulty imagining what you were doing with the definitions of PSI that I am familiar with...

chief, PSI's are what they called all the corpsmen waiting to class up for field med. I forget what it stands for, but for most corpsmen, they graduate corps school, and report either to a hospital or to division to await the next fmtb class.. on average, people wait for a month or two. this is their PSI stage.
thanks to everyone for the advice. NHCP will be a new experience, but i can't wait. i'm hoping to pass the exam in march, i got a great eval from division, so hopefully i'll be a petty officer come march-april.

It takes about 3-4 months to grade the test, then you'll need to go to PO3 Indoc before you can get frocked...
Study hard. Good luck!
