Patriot Guard Riders hard at work!

A retired general living in Bedford, Texas, has been victimized by unknown perpetrators who have repeatedly stolen the American flag flying outside the general’s home.
Brig. Gen. Archie Mayes’ flag has been stolen, taken down and had its pole snapped nine times since last February. Sometimes the flag is found down the street or left in a neighborhood pickup truck’s bed; most recently, the flag and its metal pole were shoved through a window of Mayes’ home workshop.

Mayes, whose story was first reported by Fox News, put a security camera near the flag in October and caught some images of the bandits. The vandals’ faces are never seen, but the tapes show a woman and man, both in their teens or early 20s , according to Bedford Police Department spokesman Lt. Kirk Roberts.

“We have not identified any suspects off that video,” Roberts told Air Force Times.
Mayes, who served in World War II and Vietnam, has no idea who is behind the crimes, or why.

“Maybe somebody knows I’m retired military and they don’t like that ... maybe somebody doesn’t like the American flag,” he told Air Force Times. “But they’re very persistent, and they’re mean as heck about it.”

Mayes remains determined to keep the flag flying.
“I served 35 years in the military under that flag, and I’m going to fly it if I wanna fly it, and they ain’t gonna stop me,” he said.

And he’s not alone.

Local and national TV news reports have brought floods of support. On Saturday, about 200 members of the Patriot Riders came to Mayes’ residence to show support, planting flags all over the yard.

“They put on the damndest show a Saturday ever seen,” Mayes said.
The riders also promised to install a 25-foot, ground-lighted, key-locked flagpole in Mayes’ yard to prevent future thefts, Mayes said.

Bedford, Texas is only 20 minutes from where I live. It's nice to know we have our very own General.

You tell the general that I'm one of his biggest fans. maybe some one can lay in wait and watch the place? Sure would be nice to have a burly biker trio catch them.

Biker1 "Police? Oh no way man, we aren't the police"
Vandal 1 and 2 "You can't keep us here"
Biker 2 (maniacal laugh)
Biker 3 "We can do anything we want- we're not police"

Biker 1 " get naked"
Vandal 1 and 2 "NO"
Biker 2 grabs one biker 1 grabs one
Biker 3 cuts clothing to shreds with trauma shears
Vandal 1 and 2 " This is against the law, we'll sue"
Biker 2 and 3 ignore them and tie them up
Biker one attaches lanyards to the rope around their ankles and sends them skyward to full mast.

Amid screams, Biker 2 calls 911 " I think some guys are at the General's house screwing with his flag pole"

The three bikers head off as the general salutes them. He then goes inside and gets his pellet gun. The same one he uses to keep rabbbits away from his garden. He spends the next few minutes planting pellet welts all over the two swingers.

Police arrive, ask how it happened the general says "Dunno, don't care, now get em off my flag pole. "

The vandals start screaming to arrest the general - the police laugh and drive off for a half hour. Out comes the pellet gun again. this cycle is repeated until the vandals beg to be arrested.

Texas justice? Oh man I wish it would be this way!

Believe me that the only reason this is happening is that Texas justice isn't quite what it used to be. A few years ago they wouldn't have worried about being shot with a pellet gun, they would have worried about the shotgun load of buckshot.

they try to take his flag again - i bet it wouldn't be that hard to get a bunch of volunteer snipers to keep it safe. :)
