I just took the HM3 Reservist exam on 2/10/08 so hopefully in the next 3 or 4 months I'll know how I did.
I think I did well enough to advance but we'll see when all the results come out.

You studied what other HM3's told you? Why did you not study the active HM3 BIB's?
Good luck to both of you!

I'm hoping for some pity points. I took my test with my broken ankle/foot.
Then I went to see the doctor to get it looked at. ;)
naval history?!?!
Heh.
I think I did better this time. 2nd time taking it, the first one took me by suprise.

Good luck to both of you!
i studied the bibs, but a lot of hm3s told me to concentrate on PMT, history, corpsman history, medical terminology, etc.... instead it was a lot of infection control, and BUMED stuff....
at this point, i feel ok with it, if i did fail the test, it would have been by just barely... so i'm not too worried. i just hope i can be one of those motivated docs that pick up rank on their first try!
Don't worry about it. Those that pick up HM3 on their first try don't always make HM2 that way. It may take a few tries. Best thing to do is master all of the bibs, but that may be impossible, I don't know.

Does anyone know what the Cutting score was for the Sept 2007 HM3 exam? J/W
JW:
Isn't the cutting score available at Bupers on Line, BOL? It should be there where all of your advancement tests are located, scored etc..

I'm curious of the FM, as well, for HM3.
However, the rumor was that the results would be out this week, Thursday or Friday.

What is the HM3 exam cycle schedule for FY09? I "googled" it. Thanks.
For Calendar Year 09, the PO3 exam was given 19 Mar 09, and will be given again the Thursday of the third week in September, should be Sep 17, 2009.
Nice to see that promotions are not as frozen as the budget!

Or so i study all of it?
All of it! It is the only way to properly prepare for an exam!

thanks.
i studied everything that they gave to me in school.
To better answer your question, you need to study the material on the bibliography set for your exam, which changes every cycle.

would reviewing the 08 Sept. exam hurt me or help? I ask becuase you said that the exam can change for ever cycle. Out of FMTB i will only have about a month and a half before i take it.
Thanls
We host at http://www.hospitalcorpsman.org/ the advancement bibliographies for the past two cycles (Sept 2008 & March 2009). The current bibliographies are going to be posted sometime this weekend.
As Poolzer mentioned the content changes with each advancement cycle, so it's important you are studying from the most current bibliographies.

Thanks 8404-i have been looking over the past BIBS to get an idea.
The fall bibs are already out, have been for over a week, go over to CNET to download them. Do not study any other bib than that one (unless obviously the same instruction is on it).
From there head to the above site to grab the electronic versions of the instructions. You have plenty of time between right now and Sept to study, take it to fmtb and study while going through school if you are dedicated to pick up that quick (which will be very hard for you) otherwise learn the instructions while going through school and pick up some well deserved PNA points and then focus more on the spring 2010 cycle.
Current bibs are now posted on Corpsman.com - also you can go to the Navy Advancement website (https://www.advancement.cnet.navy.mil/ (https://www.advancement.cnet.navy.mil/)) [CAC enabled] and download the bib directly for the exam.
