Well I took the initiative and joined. I have about 100lbs that I need to lose. I want to better myself so I can keep up with my children later in life. I also took the next step and joined a gym ( I should say the family did). Got a great deal to where I can take the kids and so I don't have an excuse to not go. My main support system is going to be my loving husband. Let's hope he can do a great job :-). I will keep you all posted on how I am doing. My hard part of dieting is the drinking of water. I hate water due to no taste to it, so I am going to have to get creative with that one.
Marie
Excellent Marie;
Mark will do a great job. Go out and PT with him and he can call cadence.

good luck. Dieting is hard. I am just not thinking of it as a diet, but a healthier lifestyle choice. The water part, you can disguise that with some Crystal light, or lemon. If you need anything, PM me and we can chit chat. Take care!
... not thinking of it as a diet, but a healthier lifestyle choice...
Bingo! That's the ticket. It's NOT a diet, rather a life style change!
I will have to pass on the Cadence ;-)
Some cadences can be fun. One of my favorites in boot was ...
"Mama Mama can't you see?"
"What the Navy's done to me?"
"Took away my loving man ..."
"Now I sleep with Uncle Sam!"
:D

Alright First weight in and I lost 1 1/2 pounds. Not exactly what I was expecting but a start. 98.5lbs to go!
That is fantastic Marie. It's a wonderful start. Don't expect the world but do expect results. It's a long slow process, but a process none the less.

We must crawl before we walk and run -- it is the beginning.
Just know you'll hit plateaus along the way but stick with it. One day you'll wake up and weigh in and find 5 dropped where none had dropped in maybe a week or so.
When I need to lose weight I always remind myself, "It didn't go on overnight, it won't come off overnight either."
Mind over matter. :D
Way to go Marie - I know what you are going through - the toughest part is not getting on the scales everyday (just to check) :) You are going to have ups and downs. Rob always told me when I was at my heaviest and working to lose weight not to say "I want to lose 100 pounds, but to say I want to lose 5 pounds, then 5 more" and so on until I did lose 100 pounds - I would still like to lose a bit more but since I am atleast holding steady +/- 5-10 pounds I am not complaining :D
We are here to support you - if you need to talk you know where to find us

Thanks everyone for the great support. I am going to be damned if I weight what I weight today ever again. I am in this for life.
You're still beautiful no matter what Marie. It's whats inside a person thats most important ... their soul and their heart. How they treat others.
You're gorgeous ... never forget it. You go girl! :D
I have to confess, I enjoyed an iced latte today, as the weather reached above 84 degrees. Please forgive me, lol

Tony you are so silly. I am sure you fit that in your points. You have 35 extra to use if need be.
And for HMC8404 thanks a lot for the support. I know deep down I am beautiful inside and out.

Well I stayed the same. I am okay with that. It was a pretty rough week for me.
Then one week you'll drop a lot and be happy, another you'll sit still again ... as long as you don't creep back up there, thats what matters. :)
Also don't forget to allow for that needle on the scale to sit still during "that time" of the month.
..."that time" of the month.
I don't have those, but still wanted to share my results.
Lost 3 pounds this week, for a grand total, of 57.4 pounds. Despite the fact I went out and had Mexican food, one day this past week.
I told everybody at the meeting, in order to lose 3 lbs, they needed to incorporate at least one Mexican meal, (with Tortillas) each week. lmao ;)
I believe I've somewhat developed that, "Eye of the Tiger" look.

Okay, the stats are in:
Lost 3.8 lbs today for a total weight loss of 61 pounds. Also, exceeded the weight watchers 10% target today and have lost 28.8 lbs since being with them.
All eyes were upon 8404, as he rips off his 'T' shirt and proudly steps on the scale, stomach muscles rippling.
Starting to feel like Jean Claude Van Dam:

Great job Tony! Hope I drop at least 2.75 so I can get my 10lbs ribbon this week.
I use the low sodium broth and you can also add low sodium V8 juice to kick up the broth a notch. I also add boneless, skinless Chicken Breast (diced) and diced new potatoes. You are not limited to the vegetables below. We use every kind of vegetable on the fresh produce stand.
Garden Vegetable Soup
Recipe By : W/W Week One Booklet
Serving Size : 4
2/3 cup sliced carrots
1/2 cup diced onion
2 cloves garlic -- minced
3 cups chicken broth -- or beef or veggie
1 1/2 cups cabbage -- diced
1/2 cup green beans
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon salt (Do Not Use)
1/2 cup zucchini -- diced
1. In large saucepan, sprayed with nonstick cooking spray, sautée carrot, onion and garlic over low heat until softened, about 5 minutes.
2. Add broth, cabbage, beans, tomato paste, basil, oregano and salt; bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer, covered,
about 15 minutes or until beans are tender.
3. Stir in zucchini and heat 3-4 minutes. Serve hot.
