Since I haven't been down range in a few years with a combat unit, I am curious to know the current combat load is. As far a TO weapons, medical pack etc. Current training or refreshers, updates for the medical side of the house, more for Corpsman but I am curious to what the medics get as well.

As far as TO weapon, I have with me right now an M9 and M4 with ACOG and Bayonet.
I'm attached to an STP so don't carry an aid bag.
Most have the usual assortment of Bandages, IVs, and meds.
Some others have FAST1, BIG, and/or EZIO for quick infusions.
Portable pulseox (half the size of a beeper)
quickclot, or simular
ashermans chestseal or simular
high speed, needle decompression and cric kits
and a bunch other stuff I can't think off the top of my head. :err:
Wow, an answer straight from the sand box.
Way to go tact.medic :D

TY got my box of scout cookies yesterday, shared them with the guys and patients out here, thank you very much. I'm in the process of writing a letter and sending back a goodie from out here :panda:

Been a few years since my time down range (2005 sandbox tour) but I still remember the combat load I carried every day with my grunt unit.
9 Mil with 4 loaded mags
M16A2 with ACOG and IR laser site (can never remember the name of that one)
7 loaded M16 mags
Frag x1
ANPVS14 Night Vision
Flak with unbearably thick sapis, shoulder and throat protector
Kevlar with NVG mount and goggles
Ballistic eyepro
gloves
knee pads
deuce gear or lbv with two full canteens as well as a full camelback, buttpack with assorted items
IFAK
Got used to patrolling with a modified CLS (combat life saver) bag, slung cross body like a purse with essential meds, MSO4 (x4), tourniquets, Israeli style pressure dressings and of course cravats. Cargo pockets allow for more of same.
CLS training with Battalion prior to deployment (mainly so you know what the Marine CLSs are being taught) as well as OEMS with Regiment prior to deployment.
Originally carried the MOLLE medical bag but found that I was toting a LOT of unnecessary stuff in the desert sun. Took the instrument set, ET kit on longer patrols but after OEMS, rethought the wisdom of carrying all that IV fluid with me everywhere.
