If anyone is going to be heading that way let me know. I still have a lot of hook-ups within the Command and can help you settle into a nice working environment. I also spent 5 years there and can help you out with locating affordable housing. This is a great area to be stationed with lots to do and everything located close.

Peace,

Ward,

Let me tell you it's the best job the Navy has to offer. Then again, I've been doing this for quite some time now. I guess about 19 years. It's great to be able to deploy as a Sailor and as a Marine Corps Doc. Both have their perks.

Good luck in Boot, and Corps School.

Ward,

As a former Corpsman and FMF *Doc* it's the best duty you can do. There's nothing like helping your Marines or shipmates !!!!!!

Carl-

An HM has to be part medic, part mother, part friend, part thief, part public affairs person, part boss, part follower, part salesman, part detective and part babysitter.

An HM also has to be 100% committed 24 hours a day. On board ship, with the Marines or in a clinic there is never a moment when you should ever say "I'm at lunch come back in an hour". It used to torque me to no end when a an HM2 used to do that in our Aviation Medicine Office in Mayport. She never understood what committment was.

You would think all of us operationally experienced folks would rub off on her but nope she was a E5 through and through. She pulled that at her next command and some Chief got her locked in his sights, finally busted her and kicked her out of the clinic to a supply warehouse working out of the rate. He's my hero and I don't even know his name.

Don't be your rank, be an HM. Being called E anything is a disgrace. I rather you shoot me than call me an E6. I am and will always be an HM1 or simply a DOC.

he's on vacation this week. Please gop to your local bar and announce "I can kick anyopne's azz and if any of you idiots think otherwise, come get a lesson". This works well in a bar with bikers in it at 2pm, or a true down home honky tonk in the midle of nowhere.

It would be my guess that you would wait 12 seconds for the first attack. Happy flogging, let us hear from you so we know you're still alive, O/W AZ is off my vacation list!!!

Well, I am all checked in now. Starting my House Hunting TAD right now and then going on Christmas leave starting the 16th.

I should be deploying out around Aug. They give us 6 months after checking in to the command to get settled.

My wife is returning from Deployment with the MEU on Monday and will be transfering to NSHS as a Lab Tech instructor in Jan. Thank God, we have been apart for our entire marriage. Time to get to know each other again hahahahaha

If anyone is at the Command look me up.

My name is Steve and I will be graduating corps school in less than a month. I am on my way out west to Lab Tech school and just wanted to introduce myself. I noticed you said you were out there as well as your wife who just happens to be a lab tech instuctor. I was wondering if you (or your wife) could give me any insight on the area, on base and off, the school and how it is run and any other things that might be beneficial to know! I am very excited to get started with school out there but I am just not sure what to expect. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
