Stand by to Standy By:

The main number, (760)725-7121, has a recorded option for the directory, where you can input a persons last name and it will provide the telephone number and extension. I was able to get an answer and spoke with the OOD first try. Ain't I lucky, lmao.

He stated, you want to talk with Chief Pate, who is an IDC, and can work with you on getting you a seat at the school and explain all that it entails.

I was informed by the OOD, that these 4 instructors, are not the cubicle office type of instructors. They go out into the field and work with the students, daily. However you stand a good chance to catch Chief Pate early in the AM around 0830 PST. The hours of 08:30 PST and 14:30 are generally the times you can reach him, but understand they are not always at a desk. Otherwise, leave a voice mail at Chief Pate's phone and he should return the call.

The OOD stated that when they go out to the field, (all 4 instructors go together) for an extended period, they get compensated with extra days off, (must be nice eh). That may have been the reason you cannot get an answer.

Sounds like an awesome school with a lot of history there at Camp Pendleton, California.

I got my Reply back :)

Good Morning HM2,

I received your voicemail this morning as well. We would gladly have you
come to our instructor course. The two instructor courses scheduled are
13-15 May and 17-19 June. To initiate the process, please go to the NOMI
website (http://navmedmpte.med.navy.mil/nomi/conference2/index.cfm) and
download the application. Fill it out and submit it back to me. We do
not fund the course so any travel / perdiem costs will have to be worked
out through your reserve center. Any other questions can be directed to
the TCCC quota control email which comes to myself and HMCS Taylor.
Thanks and have a great day.

0311_Doc;

Congratulations; do you need to have your reserve command sign off on this in order to get credit for active duty for training time and to be awarded the NEC upon completion?

03-28-2008, 12:30
I don't know yet. I will talk to them this week end at drill. I don't think you get an NEC from just attending this course. although that would be nice ;)

03-28-2008, 16:17
yea you need the formal course to get the NEC

8404
03-28-2008, 16:38
Is the formal course the one with Chief Pate?

0311_DoC
03-28-2008, 16:47
there is no NEC associated with the TCCC course. The course with HMC Pate is You can just teach the TCCC curriculum when your done. Now as far as getting the NEC 9502 (Navy Instructor) thats what I would like to find out about and be able to get that NEC.

That makes it all the better, that your COC is excited about sending you. When you get back, you can hold a class and teach all you know.

Excellent, you'll be that much more valuable.
