Hello all,
I am an AW2 (AW/NAC) currently in the HSL community. I am trying to find out information on how to cross into the sar corpsman community. I am not happy with the level of medical training we get and since i am actively persuing a degree in EMS I would love to move to the medical side of the house to finish out the last 12 years of my carrer. If anyone can help out with any type of information (even though HM E-5 is creo 3) I would greatly appreciate it. As i am looking at it now all i would have to do is core school and any C schools that apply. I am hoping that the NEC for sar corpsman is undermanned and that would help out greatly. Any one with any information that could help me would greatly be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Seven and a half months later after putting in a 1306 to cross rate, I finally got accepted to 8401 SAR CORPSMAN. It is a great feeling knowing I will be able to do what I love and help our injured brothers and sisters in the war. I already have my class up date of 13 May 2009. I am currently deployed (AW2 (NAC/AW))and working on my ESWS and the A&P books that I got before we left the good ol' US of A. A lot of people said no and that it couldn't be done but if you try hard enough and talk to the right people anything can be accomplished. Thank you all for the information that we are able to obtain on this site. Without this site there was practically no information available for corps school or the C schools I will be going through. If any senior Corpsman have any advice or material I should look into it would greatly be appreciated. Look forward to being a part of the best rate in the navy.

AW2 Shawn;

Congratulations on your acceptance. You also reinforced some wise words from one of our active duty CPO's on this site.

AW2,

Let me know what A&P book you have by the title, publisher, and author. I just found ALL of my books for EMS college classes including A&P and EKGs. I could possibly send you updated material as well.
