How's it goin ya'll?? Well I have just sworn in 2 days ago and will be leaving this month for Great Lakes. I have choosen HM and can't wait. I have been a firefighter/paramedic in South Dallas for about 3 years now. I am ready to step it up a notch or 3 :D...Anyways I know the basics of the job, but if I want to "go green" and go fmf - how does it work? Do I go to San Diego after corpsman school in Great Lakes? Any tips/advice/info would be helpful! Look forward to this website and a new career....

Welcome Aboard Brady:

I see you're near my neck of the woods.

Peruse the following two links, they contain some of the answers you are looking for. Are you going active duty or reserve, if reserve what program?

If you're going active duty, make sure your instructors at Corpsman school know of your desires to deploy and wanting to go green side. They can help you with that endeavor.
