Paul:

Welcome Aboard and were glad you're here. Are you enlisting as Active Duty or Reserve, if Reserve which program?

Following is the link to the Navy's Recruit Training Command, RTC. Lot's of great information for you and your parents/spouse/girlfriend:

http://www.nstc.navy.mil/rtcgl/

The following two links are for the formal HM-8404 (green-side) training:

Field Medical Training Battalion, FMTB East:

Field Medical Training Battalion, FMTB West:

You're in the Delayed Entry Program, DEP. Be sure to ask your recruiter for your Personal Qualifications Standards, [DEP PQS] booklet. Completion of this booklet can get you E2 upon enlistment in the Navy. However, your recruiter needs to add an addendum to your contract stating your completion in order to get it.

Secondly, get in shape, if not already, and be sure to maintain your height/weight standards so as not to cause any unnecessary delays come November 2008. Attend ALL DEP meetings with your recruiter.

Tell us a little about yourself, where you from, your background. Fill out you profile. Peruse the website, as there is lots of information about Navy Corpsman here. Afterwards, should you have any questions, please feel free to post them.

We also host a chat night every Tuesday evening, beginning at 2100 EST (9:00pm). Simply click the E-Club Chat (http://www.corpsman.com/forum/chat/flashchat.php) icon above and you will transported to our chat room. Looking forward to your participation.

It seems you'll be DEP for a while, there is now a program through the DEP program where you can take college classes ( navy will pay for tuition and books ) while in DEP status, ask your recruiter about that. Make the best of your time in DEP, I can't recall the name of the program but it was being initiated when I joined as a depper ( only depped for a month though ), ask your recruiter i'm sure (s)he'll know.
