Hello,

Can transcripts be sent while in DEP, or only once one has completed boot and/or A-school? I am learning so much from this site and really appreciate all who are involved in running, answering questions, and providing information in here.

Hello,

The above post is for Sailors already in the Navy and who have completed a degree.

I believe Deppers should provide all transcripts to their respective recruiters for inclusion in their enlistment folder. Once at MEPs, this folder will soon evolve into your military record and your college information should be recorded accordingly.

Also, on the front page of this site, under Military Information, there is a recruiting link with information for all Delayed Entry Personnel.

Good luck to you.

You should have confirmed your degree with your Recruiter during the enlistment process. However if you did not seek education based perk, like advanced paygrade or signing bonus, then I don't think the Recruiter does not have to collect your college info.

I recommend you present your education info to your Recruiter and ask him about it. Request that he include the info in your record. I do not think an individual in DEP can submit documents to SMART without going through a Recruiter but I could be wrong.

Here is a second option if your Recruiter/MEPS cannot help you:
() Obtain a transcript request form from your college and fill out the required info to have your school send an official transcript to the Navy College Center. (This is the exact same process the school would use to send your official transcripts to another school.)

() Hold on to the form until you start RTC.

() On the day you report for RTC (boot camp), drop the form in the mail (along with the appropriate college fee's). By the time you graduate RTC, your college info should be in your SMART.

() After RTC, login to SMART and confirm your info. Follow the posted instructions & FAQ's to fix any problems.
