I don't know how many of you have used navystorekeeper.com to study for advancement but I know I did and was shocked to hear that Senior Chief Zwierzynski passed away on Monday 31MAR2008. He and all the work he did to help others will be missed. I have included a link below to his obituary.

"If you are not aware, shipmates, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastic Melanoma Cancer in my liver and brain in October 2006. It is incurable but it is treatable - which shows why I am still on active duty and assigned to a couple of superbly supportive commands, the PCU GEORGE H W BUSH CVN-77 and FISC NORFOLK VA. We have expended most of the treatment options at this time, so I believe it would be unfair to say I would have the strength to update the site when the next Bibliography References are released on NAC in March and April.

It has been an enormous pleasure to create this web site. I truly hope it has helped as many sailors as possible for its intended purposes. All the personal time spent has been well worth it -- no regrets. And I truly hope you have taken this information, shared it with your shipmates, and used it to continue to develop into the best sailor possible.

It has been my honor, shipmates & have been proud to serve you -

The mark of a true Senior Chief Petty Officer, helping his shipmates advance and to become better Sailors for the Navy of tomorrow.

What a great sadness to hear this news. I wish to express our combined condolences to Senior Chief's family, friends and shipmates. I did not know this man, but reading his website, you can't help but feel the passion he felt in the helping of 'others'.

Rest easy SKCS(SW/AW) Charles (Chuck) Zwierzynski your mission is complete. The rest of the Chiefs Mess have the watch now.
