Well I'm off to TPU next week then I'll hopefully pick my assignment, or have one assigned to me. If given the choice... I'm opting for MARDIV... Anybody have any input in regards to Infantry, Tanks, CEB, AAB, LAR, etc?
Also, whats a typical day like for a Corpsman assigned with MARDIV?

Can you get division? Hell Yeah plenty of billets open to you. As for what a day is like, dependds on what type of Division unit your assigned.
I was assigned to ARTY so what I might do probably is much different then a Rifle Company etc... Logistics supplies etc..
Basically for all of us though when in theater, YOU WORK YOUR ASS OFF UNTIL THE WORK IS DONE!!
In Garrison, depending on your CO, You get leave and much liberty when the job is done..
It took my wife about 6 months to get used to this Plan of the day...
Report :0530 (really 0515 as your always 15 mins early)
Secure: TBA
Always this way..
;-)
Good Luck, come by and see me when you get a chance next week, I want to shake your hand..

Here's a question I've always had, but have never asked... Is LAR (Light Armored Recon) in any relation to RECON? Do you have to be 8427 to be assigned to LAR?

Hayes,
No you do not have to be an 8427 to be stationed with Light Armored Reconnance (LAR) Battalion. They are the ones thathave the Light Armored Vechiles (LAV). To find a little more about them look at the FMF Study Guide Material Posted on the Main Site. You'd work in a Battalion Aid Station (BAS) and hit the field when they do. LAVs are taxi's for Marines.
