So yesterday my daughter and I decided it was a movie day. We really didn't know what was currently out but went and decided on this movie staring Jody Foster ...

I never read the book but had seen some trailers. It looked like it would be a fun movie, and it was. It did not disappoint.

Jody Foster is funny as a borderline germaphobic author of adventure books who cannot even face the real world in order to retrieve her mail from the mail box. Instead she writes emails to those who have traveled or live in foreign places to ask questions to authenticate her writings, and while doing so she discovers that an eleven year old girl named Nim is alone on an island waiting for her father's return from sea.

When she travels to Nim's Island, the adventure is fun to follow. Not only that of Foster's character, but Nim's as she tries to protect the privacy of her island from a cruise ship, as well as her father's adventures as he tries to get back to the island.

The ending is predictable ... but you know? Sometimes those endings are nice to have when you're out on a Sunday to enjoy a movie with a daughter.

I give this movie http://www.corpsman.com/forum/images/icons/icon14.gifhttp://www.corpsman.com/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif for the laughter and lightness of the moment. This movie entertained us with nothing disappointing about it at all.
