Telecommunications provider Primus has opted (http://www.michaelgeist.ca/content/view/2843/125/) to show its support of the CAIP s battle with Bell Canada by filing its own submission (http://www.crtc.gc.ca/PartVII/eng/2008/8622/c51_200805153.htm) with the CRTC about the issue. The company urges the CRTC to consider the fact that competition in the market alone will not resolve this issue, saying: "Bell Canada's unilateral decision to throttle GAS service and stand by that decision in the face of industry protest demonstrates its market power in the wholesale high-speed Internet access market. Clearly, then, the Commission cannot rely on market forces alone to address the competitive impacts and alleged violations of the Act by Bell Canada."
The Primus filing is being discussed in our forums (http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r20347593-Primus-makes-their-CRTC-filing). Additionally, if you re interested in the protocols that are being affected by Bell Canada s throttling, there is a list available here (http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r20347593-Primus-makes-their-CRTC-filing).
