Gentlemen,

Third Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (3d ANGLICO (http://www.3dANGLICO.org/)) has an open slot and hoping to interview outstanding Doc's interested in coming on board. Motivated SelRes Corpsman are welcomed to visit or complete a courtesy drill to interview for the job and take a look at the unit. We are looking for a top-notch HM3 with NEC 8404 and FMF experience, but we will consider exceptional HN's and new HM2's who are eager for the challenge and can stand on their own. DT's with NEC 8707 who have completed their HM "difference training" per NAVADMIN 214/05 will also be considered. This billet is not open to females.

ANGLICO is a company sized Marine Corps command with a small attachment of Naval Gunfire Liaison Officers (NLGO) and Hospital Corpsmen. The unit's mission is controlling and integrating the broad spectrum of fire support and air power for MAGTF and JTF commanders. We provide a liaison capability, with foreign area expertise, to plan, coordinate, employ, and conduct terminal control of fires in support of joint, allied and coalition forces. Small teams of ANGLICO Marines operate independently, frequently deep within the battlespace and most often with non-Marine Corps forces, such as US Army units and foreign services. The high demand for our skills is reflected by our hectic schedule and continual OIF rotations.

Assignment to 3d ANGLICO is voluntary. Corpsmen desiring an assignment must meet the following minimum criteria:
[a] Hold NEC HM-8404 or DT-8707 between E3 to E5 and should have field experience working with Marines.
b] Fully qualified to perform all duties required of the NEC worldwide: wherever a billet or a mobilization requirement exists.
[c] Be airborne-qualified or qualified to attend airborne training (medical, physical, and psych prerequisites).
[d] Obtain and maintain a USMC CWS2 swim qual.
[e] Be eligible for and retain a Secret security clearance. Uncleared applicants will be required to submit their SF86 upon reporting.
[f] Have a minimum 24 months retainability upon arrival at 3d ANGLICO, or take action to acquire a sufficient service obligation.
[g] No non-judicial punishment, court martial or civil court action in the past 2 years or any conviction which precludes the use of firearms.
[h] Reliable transportation to NOSC Los Angeles (Living out of state is okay, but travel is virtually always at personal expense and never an excuse to miss duty.)

All candidates must pass an Airborne Physical Fitness Test before being considered. Candidates are also expected to write a brief bio about where they've been and where they plan to go with their Navy career. (Include training and achievements.) During the selection process, applicants will be in competition with other Corpsmen desiring to fill the vacancy and should strive to put their best foot forward.

Our requirements are demanding, training rigorous, expectations high, and schedule challenging; however, ANGLICO provides a very rewarding opportunity to excel for motivated Corpsmen wanting to do more. While anything can happen, I am confident in saying that any Doc who joins ANGLICO will be visiting Iraq. We currently have a detachment in country now and several more rotations on the schedule.

If you live within REDCOM Southwest and are interested in interviewing for the opening, send me a private message with your name and email address. You may also contact 3d ANGLICO Medical or NOSC Los Angeles and ask them to forward your contact info for an interview.

By June we are scheduled to have a Doc retire and two Doc's transfer, so we are looking to line up replacements now in order to avoid a manning shortage. Time to give a call if you are interested in joining ANGLICO.
