Assists in care and treatment of neuropsychiatric patients. Aids medical officer in administration of special neuropsychiatric therapy procedures.
Cares for patients in accordance with nursing methods. Observes and reports symptoms and psychotic manifestation of mental patients. Maintains neuropsychiatric ward and clinic equipment.

An interview with a psychiatrist, psychologist, or, if not available, with a senior medical department representative, preferable within the same or technical specialty for applicant's potential for successful interaction with psychiatric patients. This shall include results for of the psychological evaluation.
Copy of Enlisted Service Record pages 3, 4, 5, and 9.
The commanding Officer's endorsement must address the applicant's technical or professional competence, demonstrated, or potential leadership ability, general attitudes and motivation and assessment of worldwide assignability.

Sea/Shore Rotation
It is a 36 month sea/72 month shore rotation. The only time it is different is upon graduation. IT is PERS-407 policy to write 24 -month orders. Another variant is DOD and type duty orders.

Several duty assignments across the world include FMF (Fleet Marine Force), major hospitals, plus billets on Aircraft Carriers for Senior Psychiatric Technicians.
