A poster to the Consumerist (http://consumerist.com/380251/verizon-cancel-vonage-and-cablevision-phone-lines-or-you-cant-have-fios) claims that when they decided to sign up for FiOS, Verizon wouldn't activate his account until they terminated VoIP service from both Vonage and Cablevision -- receiving all three of his phone lines from Verizon. We could have told you this was not typical sales-bot practice, but Verizon confirms to Light Reading (http://www.lightreading.com/document.asp?doc_id=151594) that this is not their policy:First, we do NOT require people to have all their services with us. Second, you certainly can use a VOIP service with FiOS. And you certainly can have FiOS Internet and cable TV or vice versa. We have reached out to Consumerist to ask them to have this person contact us so that we can make it all right for him and track down the salesperson who may have said these things.
It would appear the user drew a bad sales/support apple from the Verizon barrel, which as stated repeatedly is FiOS's Achilles' heel.
