Ok Justin finally got his orders today. I haven't talked to him yet. His fiancee said that he goes to Maryland for 95 days then off to Virginia.
Trying to figure out what he'll be doing in Maryland.
He will be going to Annapolis for 95 days. Then Portsmouth,VA.

He's doing Temp duty till his orders are ready for his next school.
is he going to FMTB? (Marine School?) or did he get another C-School?

Hey Chief,

I was thinking all new graduates of Corps school were going FMBT? Is there a choice?

My son is just classing up tomorrow (we hope). He is ready to go.:dog:

Greetings, packsmom;

Not everyone goes directly to FMTB following Corpsman school graduation. It depends on budgets, time of year and class seat availability. Additionally, some Sailors are offered 'C' schools after Corpsman school graduation. The push today, is for ALL Corpsman to possess the NEC of 8404.

The word out now, is if you are a (blue side) Corpsman and do not hold the NEC of 8404, you soon will be. I know of one 'C' school, where there are blue side Corpsman (students) who are receiving orders to FMTB following their graduation.

If your son truly wants to go, have him notify the instructors and they may be able to assist him in that endeavor.

I'm stationed in Yorktown, VA for the moment, portsmouth VA is like ~ 25 min drive away. Not really sure why the hold up for him to go there. But congrats on his graduation / soon to be graduation, wish him the best of luck.

Ok finally got to talk to Justin. He said a lot of them are going to Annapolis.
And as far as Portsmouth,VA he said he's still not sure what he'll be doing there. He doesn't have a computer so he told me he'll let me know more when he gets a chance to see his orders better.
I'm planning on going to his graduation Thursday May 8th. He said that there's only around 48 of them graduating. So hopefully he'll get liberty right afterwards.

If they do it anything like they did when I graduated, he'll have a few hours before he catches the bus to the airport. I graduated at 1000 and caught the bus at 1430, what we did inbetween was up to us. : ) I knew thats how it was gonna happen though, so I didn't even ask any of my family to come :p

Bus leaves @ 1300 Sharp, Depending on whether or not he put in for leave. He has been taught all this by Mrs. Tucker about leave and transfers. If he is going on leave and has arranged a flight etc.. he will be free to go with you. Even if you want to drop him to the airport for his flight. He does not have to take the bus if your there.

Hope this helps.
