Hello Again! I posted on here several months ago looking for 2 former Corpsman to hire as Research Assitants (RAs) for a research study the Navy was about to start onboard a Carrier. It worked out so well, I’m back to post for our two upcoming studies in the San Diego area! We are a research group within the Ear, Nose and Throat department of the Navy Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD) who will be conducting 2 different clinical research studies beginning this summer!
Job #1: We will be conducting a 6 month study with 600 Marine Recruits volunteers during their 16 days of weapons training at Camp Pendleton as they come through in platoons. We are in need of 12 RAs to dispense study drug or placebo to study volunteers during AM and PM mealtimes and to track down those volunteers who are in the field for their Crucible week. The shifts are 4 hour shifts AM and PM and scheduling is as flexible as you are available (days and shifts). Pay is $25/hr. Aug 1st start date.

Job #2: We will be conducting a 1 month study with 80 Marines during specific weapons training at 29 Palms. The study will require 4 clinic visits – 3 will be at Camp Pendleton, 1 at 29 Palms. The position will require the RA to be present for all clinic visits, so one trip to 29 Palms will be required. Mileage will be reimbursed. Hotel and meals & incidentals will be reimbursed if required.
We expect two 8hr days for each of the four clinic visits.
4 Clinic Visits
16 hrs each visit
2 groups of study volunteers
= 128 hours on the job.
Pay is $25/hr. Estimate July start date

NOTES: You will be contracted by a third party contractor to the government (Battelle…feel free to Google them) as their subcontractor. Sorry, but we can't contract anyone to do both, contracting laws won't allow it. You will be responsible for withholding your own taxes. No benefits are available as these positions are considered temporary. You will be responsible for obtaining a quote for general liability insurance before being contracted and, after your contract is awarded, you will purchase said insurance and invoice for full reimbursement thereof (in other words, we make you buy your own insurance, but we’ll pay you back for it J).
