Change in Space-A Travel Policy for Military Families
Military families can now travel on a Space Available (Space-A) status without sponsors aboard Defense Department-owned or contracted aircraft when the sponsor is deployed for a minimum of 120 days. The policy became effective on December 6, 2007 and was created to enhance the quality of life for service members and their families. The new Space-A travel program is considered a privilege and does not guarantee travel to every family interested in taking advantage of the policy.
