So after a brief hiatus from the forum, I thought i'd update a bit...AHHH!! I can't believe it! All my life I've had this little thing about becomming a Navy officer. Since I knew what the Navy was, I was sold. haha. 17 years of decisions and work, and finally I'm up for interviews and such for an NROTC scholarship!!! Any ideas from anybody out there about what they're looking for? Any tips would be greatly appreciated, because now im stressed for this review. Tips? Hints? Tricks? anybody? lol

Welcome back:

The NROTC scholarship program is an excellent vehicle to a commission into the United States Navy.

I will provide my 2 cents, but invite others more knowledgeable to chime in with their knowledge or advice.

I would assume the NROTC program would first look at your academics throughout high school and your SAT or ACT scores. If you attended a junior ROTC program, I believe that would also help your chances of acceptance. The program may also look at your community involvement and your demonstrated examples of leadership and attributes.

As with any interview, get a hair cut, be clean shaved, dress for success and present yourself as a leader. Speak clearly, concisely and answer the questions directly. Speak up about your accomplishments and successes.

Although the following link is for a specific university, the Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ, answers are standard for the NROTC program.

We wish you the best on your future endeavors, keep us posted as to your progress and acceptance to the NROTC program and be sure to tell your friends, family and school mates about corpsman.com.
