Greetings all,I ship off to bootcamp the 27th of Nov.with HM in my contract. I am looking forward to this as this is the direction that my life to progress towards. I have a few questions about BAH. I have been reading one thing on various websites and being told something else by my recruiter. I have a child, but am not married. My recruiter has told me that as long as I live in the barracks I will recieve full BAH for that area due to haveing a dependent. I have seen on various websites that I would in fact recieve the BAH differential which is far less less than the normal BAH. If some one can help me out that would be great. I am trying to be responcible and work out a budget to send home every month. I am entering as an E-3 because of college if that matters. I hope some one can answer my questions.

He is not being truthful...
You will recieve BAH-DIF..

Not full BAH if you are in the Barracks. Please have your recruiter call our office so we can school him @ (847) 688-3412 Ext 269. Ask for HMC Crone or Becky Luduwise.

I am glad you asked as we have recently had some pretty upset Mom's (Single) coming through here..

Always ask people, she did the right thing.. Good onya...

How should I go about telling my recruiter that he could be mistaken. Honestly this has turned into a nightmare. I have asked twice about my suspisions about the BAH and he has said that because I am a single father I pretty much have shared custody of the child I would get the full amount. On top of this in my contract I have an option for student loan repayments. I have contacted my lenders to make sure that they have recieved the pertinant information that I have sent to them. My lenders have verified that they have and they sent it back to MEPs like I was instructed to tell them to. I have asked my recruiter to verify that MEPs has recieved the forms and they have not yet. I then asked if I could call and my recruiter gave me the name of a Chief at MEPs. I have called him three times and he has not returned my messages. I would just like to know that everything is good to go before I ship. Because once I ship, if the paperwork is not in or correct my student loan repayments go out the window. If I could have some more advice it would be appreciated.

Lanekit,

Where are you located?? Are you joining Active or Reserve. Where is your recruiting office. I would tell the recruiter, you aren't going "ANYWHERE" until this is done to your satisfaction. You want it in WRITING that all thisis done, and you have it in writing in your hands, I don't want to say he/she is lying about the BAH but he/she is mistaken, You "DO NOT" rate full BAH when coming into bootcamp and school as a Single Parent.

Call me on Monday if you have any questions @ the number I listed above..
