So here is my question, If I go into the Navy Reserve for the job HM FMF which I believe is 8404 how long before I go to C school from A school? What if I want to stay Blue side? What if I would rather deploy on a ship than with the Marines?

I don't believe you get to 'vote' with regards to blue or green side.
How much time between boot camp and FMTB? I believe you report to FMTB directly after boot camp, as a Reservist. I'll leave that question to someone else more knowledgeable.

If you are joining to go HM FMF, then you are joining to go Green side with the Marines. You may not go to the Blue side until your tour is over, 2 to 3 years after joining a Marine unit.
As an HM 8404 at the end of a tour with the Marines you are entitled to transfer away from the Marines for 1 tour. Anytime after that Blue side tour expires (2-3 yrs) then the Navy has the option to send you back to the Marines for another Green side tour.
In most cases, if your unit deploys then you deploy. A command is very unlikely to allow a HM to volunteer to deploy with anonther unit in order to avoid deploying with the command.
If your command is not deploying then you may list yourself as a volunteer for mobilization and look for opportunities to deploy. However, there are far more open requests for HM's to deploy with the Marines than with a ship.
