Hello everyone , my daughter is an instructor at the Corps School. She has been in the Navy for 6 years, is an HM2.She is taking the Excelsior online course for RN.She did the FMSS training in 2004 at Camp Lejeune. I live vicariously through her now that I'm retired from the health care field.:D
I am an LPN with 30 years in the trenches of Long Term Care and have battle scars to prove it, I am now disabled, lifted one too many dead weight patients.
It will be nice getting to know everyone, already am acquainted with 8404.

Thats actually really ironic, there is a male nurse on my nursing forum I belong to that goes by the user name of HM2 Viking, comes from Minnesota.
hee hee - now you gotta get your daughter on here too - input from instructors is always welcome. Helps the incoming students be better prepared mentally for what is coming once they get to Corps School.
Nice to have another Parent on the site too.

Proud Corpsman MomThanks, she actually did join this group, but she is so busy she says she barely has time to, ugh I wont say.:nah:She is getting ready to do some sort of presentation for the Corpsman ball, then she took the place of her date who was supposed to be in the MIA Color Guard presentation ( I'm not sure if I gave this the correct title), but he will be indisposed D/T surgery. They have to do some sort of precision thingy ( now that is NOT at all a military description).
...precision thingy...
I'm sure it's somewhere in the medical text books. Perhaps, we can stick that on the students test as one of the multiple choices.

She had her precision thingy practice today and said it went OK, they dont want to embarrass themselves or the Navy, its been a long time since boot camp.

Out of curiousity and I hope you forgive me for asking, however, I have to ask about your signature line. I would love to hear the story.
However, I think it would be best if it was shared in our monthly newsletter. Would you be willing to write an article about the ship, USS General W.C. Langfitt AP-151 and how you came about coming to America in 1955?
What a wonderful piece of history and addition it would make.
Take whatever time you need and when you're ready, please send it along to editor@corpsman.com. Include in the subject line: Article for the newsletter.
I want to thank you in advance and am definitely looking forward to reading it.
