How many years does a corpsman need in his contract in order to initiate the recon pipeline WITHOUT having to sign on for more time?

I haven't been able to find a straight answer to this question, even after mucking through some navy documents.

Are only greenside corpsmen eligible to be screened for recon, or can the hospital guys try for it too?

Bomb;

Private Message Doc_D, who is our resident active duty recruiter. He should be able to answer your questions directly.

What is his exact user name? I'm seeing a number of Doc Ds.

Okay;

While were waiting for a response from Doc_D, I have found a website which has oodles of information and points of contacts! Make sure you identify yourself as a potential Navy recruit/Corpsman or your current active/reserve duty status. They should be able to provide you with an accurate and up to date information, with regards to enlistment extensions etc..

I also, want to add that Recon as well as all Special Ops type of jobs are not conducive to someone in a relationship, such as marriage/girl friend etc... They deploy a lot and absence does not make the heart grow fonder! ooraH!

Excellent Info Tony. That is exactly what I was going to respond with. Unfortunately, within recruiting, we typically do not have visibility to any follow on training.
