Last week I noted that for the first time ever (http://www.corpsman.com/shownews/When-UVerse-and-FiOS-Compete-95212), Verizon would be competing directly with AT&T by deploying FiOS into a portion of Texas already wired with U-Verse. The Dallas Morning News (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/bus/ptech/stories/DN-verizon_17bus.State.Edition1.f7543b.html) has more detail. "This is a logical thing for us," Verizon spokesman Eric Rabe says of installing FiOS in 60,000 homes in AT&T territory. "I wouldn't call this a major attack on AT&T or anything like that -- this is just taking advantage of an opportunity to sell to the rest of the town." I'd think Qwest is probably watching this with great interest.
