IndyWeek (http://www.indyweek.com/gyrobase/Content?oid=oid%3A259848) has an interesting read on the North Carolina city of Wilson, which is providing all of its residents with fiber optic triple play services via a company named Greenlight (http://www.greenlightnc.com/). Greenlight offers symmetrical connections from 10Mbps ($34.95) up to 100Mbps ($299.95), something that obviously doesn't make local competitor Time Warner Cable very happy. As usual, local incumbents want to have their cake (slow, limited deployment of services to protect its coffers, limited competition) but want to eat it too (efforts to pass State laws derailing cities like Wilson from wiring themselves).
