May the ice under your boots be grainy.. ;-)
Don't slip and slide, be sure of foot.
You will now learn what cold is.. (-5 Wind Chill today!)
Good Luck!

No shit Chief!!!
Remember how pissed I was when I missed my shipout date last month? That all COMPLETELY changed as I was walking to Borders today to go study my Corpsman manual. All of a sudden a March 20th ship date sounds incredible ;)
The chief is right. I have the BEST in ice climbing gear for protection from the elements and I was still cold today. The armed forces arent necessarily known for their protection on a budget ;)
Good luck Zippy! I think your going to need it.
Thanks for the well wishing guys, yeah I know how cold its gonna be. Haha my recruiter and one of the other petty officers were looking up the weather forecast for great lakes earlier this week and they told me that there was to be a low of 7 degrees before windchill kicks in. Yep, so my spartan list of things to take to MEPS san diego just doubled. Snowboarding jacket, long johns and whichever pair of shoes is the most water resistant. Not like it matters, Im told that standing on the grinder in shitty weather is just the GREATEST.
Hey quick question, who do I see about FMF after pass in review? is that something I have to start piping up about at the shcoolhouse?

I hope your kidding about the jacket etc...pretty much everything but your eyebrows gets shipped back home at your expense...i think your kidding but JUST in case
I hope it gets better for you here...especially coming from san diego...we ordered in and the restaurant said it was a 5 dollar extra charge because none of his delivery boys showed up it was so cold...funny thing is...NO ONE complained...its bad
but at least when you finish up boot and A school it will be PERFECT weather when you go to FMSS school...at my rate and I am going to hit that in the middle of summer...:P

Holy $***! I knew it was cold and I was freezing, but I didn't know that the wind chill was that bad. I will be staying inside most of the weekend :) Its suppose to get to a high of 20 for the weekend and I am not about to stroll around in it. Plus, I have to study for Tests 1, 2, and 4 this weekend. HooRah!
BTW, if anyone has any questions about boot camp or Corps School feel free to ask me. I just classed up last week at Corps school and graduated bootcamp 9 Nov 06.

Hell no I wasnt kidding about the jacket, I hail from the most mild climate in north america! I start going numb in the toes when its 40 degrees and I have on wool dive socks (same ones the specwar guys wear). But for the sake of being mr tough guy high speed Im just going to wear dickies, a tee and a track jacket. Ill be cold but I doubt il be standing for too long outside the bus in my thin outfit freezing the testicles off (its a bet I ahve to make just to keep the load light). well i am off in about 4 hours for MEPS so you guys take care and HMC crone if youre one of my instructors ill introduce myself and wish you well with your upcoming retirement...it is upcoming and not passed by right?
