FMF ribbon

Would an *old* FMF Corpsman qualify for it? I was AD with 1st Recon and 3rd Tanks 'tween 1974 and 1976

I've researched this one in the Navy/Marine Corps Awards Manual, http://neds.daps.dla.mil/Directives/1650/four.pdf, Look on Page 15 of the linked document it describes all of the qaulifications that had to be obtained for the Ribbon. The FMF Ribbion was started 1 September 1984, therefore, I'd unfortunately have to say that you probably would not qualify for the ribbon, because you served prior to the Ribbon existing. Though on a brighter side, you and the others that servedwith you and the Marine Corps during that timearethe reason the Ribbon was created!
